Scene Study

We will employ various techniques along with improv to enliven the imagination, open the instrument and engage in moment to moment work.

Instructor Sally Smythe has over fifty years experience in the theatre as an actress, director and theatre educator. She is artistic director of South Pasadena Theatre Workshop, having performed with many west coast repertory companies including the American Conservatory Theatre, The Seattle Rep, Berkeley Rep, The Old Globe, The Oregon Shakespeare Festival,Seattle Shakespeare, Pacific Resident Theatre, and South Coast Rep among others. Her directing credits include ten years of working with youth in Conservatory based programs where she had the pleasure of bringing to full production you cant tke it with you, Midsummer nights dream, The Diviners, Into the Woods, Oklahoma, Wonderful Town amongst other shows. Her professional directing credits include, Much Ado About Nothing, and Our Country's Good. Her biggest influence was in her early work with Paul Richards of the Acting Studio.
